All abstracts must be in the English language only

The abstract should be organised into the following sections:

  • Introduction
  • Objectives
  • Methods
  • Results (essential)
  • Conclusions
  • References

Your abstract text will need to be entered into the box provided on the submission pages. You can paste text from a word document directly into the abstract box.

Assessment Process

All abstracts will be sent to 3 reviewers, without the authors ’ names and affiliations.

The reviewers will evaluate the abstract and will return one of the following results:

  • Accepted as a poster presentation
  • Accepted as a poster presentation, subject to changes being made
  • Rejected

The Scientific Programme Committee will communicate the results to the authors on 01 October 2011.

Where an abstract is ‘accepted subject to changes’, the Scientific Programme Committee will send to the authors, details of the changes required. All amended abstracts must be received by 20 October 2011 for a second assessment by 3 reviewers, after which a result of Accepted or Rejected will be returned.

The final result will be decided by the majority decision of the 3 reviewers, as follows:

  • If two of the three members consider a particular abstract should be accepted, it will be accepted.
  • If two of the three members consider a particular abstract should be rejected, it will be rejected.
  • If each reviewer has a different opinion, the abstract will be ‘accepted, subject to changes’ and will need to be amended and submitted for a second assessment.

The decision of the panel of reviewers, as communicated to authors via the Scientific Programme Committee, will be final.
